The Birds Aren't Real 2025 calendar features 12 gouache paintings of North American birds, with a three additional paintings on the front cover, inside front cover, and back cover.

Each month is set in a colorway to compliment the featured painting. Holidays are highlighted in a complimentary color on each month. A crow squawks a fun fact about the featured bird at the bottom. This little calendar is ideal for pinning up in your office space or on your fridge!

Features a drill hole for easy hanging and rounded corners. Printed on high-quality matte paper, produced by a printer in Chattanooga, TN.

I participated in Birdtober 2024, a painting challenge during the month of October. I painted each bird in my small sketchbook using Holbein acrylic gouache. I sourced my reference images from user-submitted photos on ebird.org. It's a great website to learn more about each species of bird and to understand more about birding in general!

(Also here's one more fun fact: Texas is the place to go if you want to see birds! Many of the birds I painted were only found in Texas, and they were also usually the brightest and most interesting ones. My dad is an avid birder and told me he will never forget the trip he took there - he saw so many birds he had never seen before!)
